NGĀ MĀTĀPONO/TIKANGA - VALUES AND CULTURAL AUTHENTICITY

Māori tend to have a unique perspective on the way that their Māori culture is portrayed to the public eye. Their core beliefs are centred around tradition and Māori philosophy. Land, water and air are very much essential elements in the Māori world view approach and that it helps to shape a community and their behaviours. Māori dwell often on past endeavours and triumphs and it is in their stories, song, poetry and prayer that these historical occurrences are never forgotten.
